My first Podcast: Episode 04: Drupal 7 Soft Landing Initiative

April 17, 2023

A month ago I was confident that I cannot do a podcast.  Mark Dorison, CTO of Chromatic, proved me wrong.   On April 13 I joined Chris and Mark to discuss Drupal 7 end-of-life, Backdrop, and how to give Drupal 7 users a soft landing. There has been quite a bit of talk about what it takes to upgrade to 'modern Drupal,' but less ink has been spilled painting a picture of what it will actually be like to still be responsible for a Drupal 7 site after that date.

2022 in Review

December 14, 2022

The past couple years have been difficult for many. As we approach the end of 2022, we hold space in our hearts for all those around the world and in our own communities who are facing challenges.

Here at Fibonacci Web Studio, when we are facing difficulties, we try to turn to our values as our guiding lights. It’s not a perfect solution, but it grounds us in our work and helps us navigate choppy waters.

Stanford WebCamp 2022

June 4, 2022
This year we run our WebCamp minimalist style - mission control center was manned with two engineers on duty :) Almost 100 attendies registered, and some prefered to attend camp as unregistered guests. Traditional gathering at Treehouse was happening on Friday. Full list of session is posted on the 2022 camp site.

Migrating From Drupal 7: One-Click Migration - Is That Possible? Backdrop CMS and Drupal 9.

April 21, 2022

One-Click Migrations, Step-by-Step

In 2017, my presentation at StanfordWebCamp was titled “OneClick migration to Drupal 8,” and I was asked if such a thing even exists. My answer is a conditional “YES.”  If you invested time and money into having a clean D7 site with architecture that you want to preserve and freshly updated content  — now is a time to reap the rewards!  Whether you’re talking about migrating to D9 or Backdrop CMS, your upgrade path should cost much less than a full site redesign and rebuild.
